let me rephrase that whining on the SL2 while backing yes it's normal but this noise is a definite rattle it's intermittent & only at times after the vehicle has been sitting for hours early in the morning turning the wheel reversing down the driveway shifting to drive for a minute or two than basically it goes away It is a high milage car 99 with 174 plus but I kept up with all maintenance done by dealership to 135k miles so we have not abused it. help or advice appreciated

If you are responding to a previous question, you need to make your responses to that question to keep all info in one place and notify any experts involved.

Wrenchtech is right you need to post all your replies on the first question you asked that iam helping you on.That way when you post a reply i get a email alert telling me that you posted a response rather playing hide and go seek and maybe or maybe not finding your new question with your posted reply. Then having to go from every new posted question with a reply and trying to thread it all together.Makes it a lot harder to help you.So go back to the first posted question you asked where i replied with several replies and i will post on there what i think it is.Thanks for your understanding.
