I am having problems with my car temperature gage getting to high in stop and go traffic. It gets up over half way of the temperatre on the gage. I have checked the fan and it is working. Is this bad or is it normal to get that high in slow traffic ?

Just to add to this answer the cooling fan doesn't come on till just over half way on the gauge does the fan come on then? Also if you have a temp gun see if the fan come's on at 222-226 degree's.Problem with that car is it only has one coolant temp sensor for the computer and the gauge if the sensor goes bad you really can't tell from the gauge reading.
