Is replacing the hood struts on my '99 Saab 9-3 something I can do myself? How involved is it?

Most hood struts are very easy. You use a screw driver to pull back the metal clip to pop them off and just simply pop the new ones on. Once you have them you will see the hookup and yes should be able to do your self.
