I have a '99, 9-3 convert. My remote opener quit working. At the same time I noticed when I turn the car off and remove the key, the radio stays on. Also the door chimes sound when the door is opened and no key in the ignition. Also the alarm indicator light is out.

Check it the center area of key cylinder jumps up when u take key out, if it does not, just stick the key back in & then take key out in a rush this should allow key cylinder lock to jump up, note it that is the case u will need a new key cylinder, note not the switch but just the cylinder section, dont bother to lube it, if u dont know how to take that section out alone do not try to lube, u will just be flooding the lower ignition switch section with fluid if u do.
