battery problems

thius morning I heard a slight crackling noise under the car, at this point the steering became very heavy and the battery, ABS and air bag lights came on. after pulling over I turned off thew car and tried switching it back on but it sounds like battery has gone?

we have no info for these but what happened kinda sounds like a bad battery. charge it before having it checked then have the charging system checked as well
