What is wrong with my right front parking lamp?

My right front parking lamp works fine when not running and lights on, and when running with parking brake engaged (mine is a 6-speed manual). Once I release the parking brake, the right front parking lamp goes out (with or without lights on / day-time running). When light switch is moved from the parking to headlight position, the right front parking works (I think), and the left front parking lamp appears to get a little brighter. Is this a possible problem with the day-time running module? If so, where is this located and is it difficult to replace myself? Thanks!

It could be a the result of a bad ground. Check for loose or weak body grounds.
