headlight motor?

just had to replace the socket for the driver's side turn signal, then the very next morning, went to turn off my headlights and went they went down it was making a horrible sound on the driver's side, had to pull the fuses to keep the headlights in the up position for now, could it be the motor the raises the headlight up and down or something esle, help and thanks, DC

sounds like gears stripped. nylon, there are metal replacements.
