Hey my Pontiac Sunfire - Could this be an anti theft issue? When I was driving it home from the place I bought it from, the heater didnt work and the temperature was fluctuating from yellow to middle range. I showed it to the friend and took it around the block, then shut the car off to let it cool down so that I could address the heating issue.

I added antifreeze, and the car accepted all of it. I tried to turn it on to see if the heater would work, but the car wouldnt start. It turned over but it wouldnt start. The anti-theft light is on and I wondered if this had anything to do with it. I also can hear the fuel pump running, so I was wondering if this could be an electrical issue or if I am not getting spark.

You need to bypass the pass lock system. Samething happened with my sunfire. I guess alot of the older sunfires the pass lock security system will make it so you can't start the car. It's easy to bypass it. You just
1)turn the key so powers on but don't start it and leave it like that for 15mins.
2)then turn the key to off for 5 seconds
3)repeat that cycle a couple times until security light goes off
4)then turn key and start car.

You might want to look it up to make sure that's exactly how it's done. I think that's how you do it. Just look up (pass lock system bypass).
