1999 pontiac montana, code said its a mis-fire. Will a tune up fix this for this is what i was told? Seems like it will be something else.

Thank you rasmataz, I will do the tune up. Just as an addition, the reason I suspected something else is because the van isn't running any different( rough or sluggish) but fairly normal. Now once in a blue moon it will idle at a higher RPM but usually back to normal when van is turned off and restarted.

Clean the idle air control valve out and see what happens.

hello again, so i did the complete tune up- plugs, wires, coils(all 3 packs) and fuel filter, i even bought a new idle air control vavle and my check engine light remains on. when i had the code pulled the first time it was only for a misfire. what else could it be?
