Engine sounds like it is missing

Car was running fine went to store came out got in it, it backfired. Now it wants to shut off and sounds like it's missing. Oil is fine all fluids are good. What could it be.

They changed the O2 sensor thinking it was that and now it wont start at all. All the lights are always on on the dash because they changed the ignition switch before we got it and something happened so they are always on.

Okay, were there any codes set?

You need to check for fuel pressure and spark as one of them is missing.
