What would make the cooling fans kick on

When the temperature gauge reads cold and making the ideal go a little higher then normal making the transmission shift hard?

i have replaced the coolant temperature senor with the connecting wire and that made the service engine soon light turn on and it made the idle run higher then normal and make the transmission shift hard and making the fans kick on right when i first start the car and they stay on

What are the exact code numbers you have in the computer not code descriptions.Also where was the sensor you replaced and what color were the wires going to it?

the codes were P1115 P1118 and the sensor what right by the termistat on the water outluet housing and the color of the two wires that go into it were black and yellow

Do you still have any codes?If so which ones?When the connector is disconnected or the wiring has been damaged to the coolant temp sensor the cooling fan will come right away.
