will the trans from a 99 Grand Am with the 3400 V6 work in a 99 Grand Prix with the 3800 V6?

I don't think so different programmings, but you can try won't hurt

The computer may need to be reprogrammed, but I think it should work. You can call a GM dealership or your local junkyard as they have full cross-references listing what will and won't work.
