When replacing the blower motor on my 99 Pontiac Grand Prix, the replacement part didn't come with a wiring harness to plug back in. The wires that are on the replacement are black (neg) and red (positive). The two wires that are under the dash of the car are not red and black. which one is the positive and which one is the negative?

the plug in should only go one way the harness plugs into the blower motor. the wiriing runs from the blower resistor and if that is missing you need a new resistor. There should be a lock on the plug unless it's broken off to plug into the blower.

The schematic doesn't supply color codes. All you have to do is just use a test light with the key on and see which one has power. It sounds like your using a cheap Chinese replacement motor instead of a quality Delco unit. You get what you pay for remember.

Terminal A is voltage. Terminal B is ground. MOD didn't give a wiring color.

what is the return air flow used for? why is the rubber tube there? my "cheap chinese replacement" has the return air flow hose on the front of the motor instead of the rear. I have twisted and turned, but there is only one way to mount the blower motor (screw holes lining up properly) I am as green to car repair as possible, but I have to save money where I can

I don't disagree but when you have to replace that part that you saved $20 on 3 more times and it takes the resister out with it when it goes, what did you save?

That is a cooling hose to cool the motor. If it doesn't align, then it is either installed wrong or it's the wrong part. That's something else you find with Chinese parts.
