headlights on car

1999 pontiac grandam....driving lights our out but still have lights when i turn the light switch on...are these seperate bulbs? and why would they all go out at once

I posted the trouble tree for daytime running light's inop and headlight switch works just like you experncing.You will have to follow the trouble tree to see where the trouble is.
