problem number 1 is the steering has a play. i took my car to be fitted with new front shocks and after driving for a month the problem started.

problem 2
my hand brake cable snapped and I then fitted a replacement but now the hand brake cant hold the car still in a
steep place, so the car rolls because the hand brake is not holding firmly.

please advice me on how to solve these 2 problems

First, struts will not eliminate play in the steering. Check all steering components such as tie rods, ball joints...

As far as the brake, you need to readjust the new cable so it works properly.
