while driving my cars engine light started flashing and when i took my foot off the gas pedal ..the engine reveded up and acceled instead of decreasing? so i stopped and put the car in park but it sounded awful. rough while idling.

If the light came on, have the computer scanned for trouble codes. Most parts stores will do it for free.
