I'm having a hard time getting out of park. The button on the SHIFTER IS very hard to push in. Once It's out of park it shifts easily. Someone mentioned a brake shift cellinoid but can't find any such part.

When you step on the brake can you hear a clicking noise from the gear shifter area?

The solenoid for the shift interlock is on the base of that floor shifter of yours. You have to get in there and see whats going on why its hard to get out of gear.
