I saw a post on a forum that this problem is caused by the TCC solenoid & valve not functioning properly. I do occassional DIY light mechanic work at home, but have not done any transmission work. Is this a task I can tackle myself?

Usually a hard shift is caused by too high of line pressure in the transmission.Do you have any codes?
