i have a 99 oldsmobile alero 2.4L, it has stalled a few times. when the engine was at operating temp; when put into gear it would die. i also have some knocking noise. i have checked the fuel pressure, replaced fuel filter, did compression check. and everything was ok. i was thinking maybe a bad camshaft for the knocking but have no idea for the stalling. any ideas?

before you sink alot of money into this, have a pro checkthe knocking noise out so you have a better idea of what it actually is. it may be hte reason for stalling as well as it may be running with one cylinder out.
