What could be causing the serpentine belt to split twice in less than a week?

The serpentine belt split in half Friday. I changed it Sunday morning. (It is a V6 so I had to lower the engine to replace the belt). Then, monday evening I hear noise, check the engine and see the new belt has also split in half. What could be causing this?

Is the belt tenisoner still in alignment with the other pulleys?Also any of the other pulleys out of alignment?Or any sharp pulley grooves or backsides of the pulleys that the belt rides that are sharp?
