1999 Nissan Primera fan not working well

Good day, i drive a nissan primera 1999,
i was driving home this evening in the heat of the sun and i want
to switch on the fan immediately after which i will turn on my ac,
but it tried coming on and it went off. i then noticed it wasnt working at all,
so i switched it off and turned it back on, i observed fan did not come on
until i turned it to the highest level, level 4 , if its on any other, 3,2,1 level
the fan doesnt come on. it works only on level four, pls where could the problem
be from? and what can i do?

Replace the blower motor resister.
