Repairing my 1999 Mitsubishi Mirage 1.5. The bottom crank pulley was lose so I pulled it off. Come to find out it looks as if their is a pin on the bottom timing gear that is sheared. Is this correct that it has on and do I just pull that pull and replace the pin?

Just remove the crank pulley, replace the shear pin, and replace everything. With that pin sheared, it will through the timing for the spark off.

I have a 1998 mirage that just died one evening. It has fire fuel and air will turn over without hesitation but will not start. I have had the car timed and rechecked to make sure it was right and all the marks line up. I was wondering if the pin you are talking about is laso on the 1998 model and if that could be the problem. If not what could it be?
