Is the tensioner moving freely? If you have a spring-loaded tesnioner pulley, it must move back and forth freely when you tug on it. If it does, you may the wrong belt. If it dies not, the pivot is rusted tight and the assembly must be replaced. You should be able to move the pulley back and forth by tugging on the belt.
