I have a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse. The car is missing badly at times when I accelerate. I thought it might be the fuel filter so I changed that. I also have changed the spark plugs. I have also put a new coil on it about a year ago. I have new spark plug wires also. Just not sure why it misses so badly. Anything else you might suggest I check?

If you haven't had the codes scanned yet, that is a good starting point.

I wish I had access to that but unfortunately don't. Anything else you might suggest?

If you have an AutoZone or Advanced Auto Parts store in your area, they read them for free. If you can't accomplish the basics of reading codes, then you won't be in any position to repair this yourself.
