The a/c compressor in my 1999 mercury villager is not turning on. I have checked the fuse - any other simple fixes? How do I check pressure?

There are a number of things that can cause this so we need to start at the beginning. Basically we need to check the pressure with a gauge set that you can rent from a local parts store.

Here are a couple guides that will help with doing this:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/car-air-conditioner-not-working-or-is-weak

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/re-charge-an-air-conditioner-system

The system may just be low due to a leak so again, here are a couple guides that will help with checking for a leak and then filling the system if there is no leak:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/air-conditioner-leak-detection

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/air-conditioner-how-to-add-freon

Depending on the pressures we may have a compressor issue so let us know what the pressures are and we can go from there. However, here is another guide that will help with replacing the compressor if that proves to be the issue.

Below is the chart that you will need to use to find out if the pressures are correct. Please let us know what you find with this. Thanks
