when i am at a stop either at a light or stop sign after about 2 miles from where i started from the car being still in gear will start ideling high then low so on & so on it wont stall though & it don't have the power to get up there as fast as it used to it takes longer.

sounds like a vacuum leak. have the pcv hose checked as it is the most common failure for this issue
