After my fuel pump went out my brakes aren't working right.

Car is running but brakes not working right now. Why? Need new brakes now?

When I push the brakes I have to put them to the floor for them to work never had that problem before the fuel pump went out.

Check for an external leak on the brakes if none replace the brake master cylinder
