1999 Mercury Cougar Transmission filter

I need to know how to change the filter for the mercury cougar 99, where to start.

you need to remove all the bolts holding the pan to the bottom of the transmission. once the pan is removed, the filter is right there. it may just be pressed into the valve body or it may have a bolt securing the filter.
