1999 Mercury Cougar Loud vacuum noise

My car is making a loud vacuum noise for anytime im driving it but mainly when its warm outside. The only time the noise stops is when I press the gas then the noise will start again after about 5 or 10 min. What could this problem be?

It sounds like you have a vacuum leak. If you open the hood, can you hear it? Have you tried to locate the sound?

Every time it comes on I try to stop the noise because its very loud and embarrassing. I have no clue about cars so I wouldnt know where its coming from.
