Does bars leak products really work

Suspect a head gasket leak

I was a skeptic of this stuff. I watched the permatex brand work right in front of my eyes. It was about $30 and in a silver bottle I think. You pour it directly into the radiator and then drive. I assume if the head gasket just started to leak, and the motor didn't start doing any hydro locking, or making the diesel sound, you might be ok. The car I saw it work on was dieseling for a while so it endured rod bearing damage, which in turn caused low oil pressure and near future engine failure. Good luck!

I'm not a fan of additives like that. I believe they clog up more than they repair and then you have worse problems than you started with.

If I were you and had a 12 yr old car that needed a head gasket, I would try it for $30, and if it didn't work I'd scrap the car. But I'm able to fix the head gasket, so that's what I would do if I were me, which I am.
