1999 Mazda b4000 Oil Pressure Gage

I have a 99 Mazda B4000 with the 4.0 Engine, Auto trans. The oil pressure gage fluctuates wildly, in other words it jumps around as I drive. Occassionaly the Chek Gage than flashes on as well. Would this be the sending unit in regards to the fluctuating oil pressure gage? Is the fix easy and approximate cost. Thank You.

There is a good chance it is just the sending unit. It is most likely under 20 dollars and the old one screws out and the new one just screws in. The only other thing to do is remove a wire to it and replace it when the new one is in.
