head gasket and rings r blown can i just replace head gasket

car been running hot then just cut off

lots of work replacing the head gasket, checking it for warpage and cracks and then replacing the rings making sure the pistons are not damaged or the walls scored. you would be better off replacing the motor. then after that is done, you still need to find out why it overheated to start with.

why are the rings bad?youll have to get a rebuilt head and a head gasket set.still alotta work.
