1999 Lincoln Town Car Excessive gas consumption

Before the fuel pump was replaced on my 99 Town Car I got very good mileage per gal. But soon after the new pump was installed I averaged 10 miles in the city as opposed to like 17 average before the pump change. i thought that there might be leak surrounding the pump seal but I don't see any..Thanks for your help.. Bert

scan for codes and check fuelpressure with a gauge first see what you actually have . also check air filter for blockages etc.
