the latch for the rear door(tailgate) does not work,(it just flaps up and down so he tailgate remains locked. The remote does not open it.
Is there a manual opener in the car? I can't find one. If not, what can I do to open the rear door? .

There is no manual lever. You would need to remove the tailgate panel from withint vehicle to get to the latch. Seems something is dislodged or the latch is faulty.
