how to repair the heater to blow hot air

heater blows cold air then it gets alittle hot after awhile..then it goes back to cold..any idea what can it be?...any help its greatly appreciated..thanks for ur time!!

make sure both heater hoses are hot first.in the pic see if one of the cables are broken (red arrow) then see if the doors work (blue arrow) one controls direction and the other controls how much heat you get.
