Well, I do not know your rig well

But I've been told all this time that the "KEY ON" Position "Verifies" that the Dash Warning lights are in "WORKING ORDER" Not only the Check Engine, but the OIL, TEMP ETC (Basically Idiot lights that have taken the place of Gauges)

So, the 1st thing I would do is run thru the fuses (owners manual will show all locations) and insure there is not a BLOWN one.(EZist to try 1st)

Then the Next Step would be INVESTIGATE A BAD CHECK ENGINE BULB BEHIND THE DISPLAY. This may be a little more involved

Let us know how it turns out

The light it self works. I have verified this by leaving the gas cap loose and it comes on. When I check the computer with an obd scanner it shows a code for the fuel system. The only time it doesnt come on is when the key is turned on

I would be checking that the globe in the dash is OK, often this can be the case with no check light.
