The hood will not open

I got the oil changed at a place when I got home later that day I wanted to check a belt and I pulled the hood release but it wount open. Can you help I would like to do it my self I will not go to the oil change place they no nothing.

Dave, check to make sure the steel cable is still attached to the release lever in the vehicle. If it is, have a helper pull the lever while you tap on the hood with the palm of your hand near the hood latch. It may need lubericated and be sticking
