Where can I get a copy of a diagram of the liftgate panel for a 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport via the internet?

I don't have access to body panel information. Can you describe what is being done? Maybe I can help.

The liftgate panel is missing 4 plastic retainers. I have 2 short ones (white) and 2 long ones (yellow). I need to know the exact location where they need to be installed. I am hoping this solves the bumping noise in the back of my Jeep. Thanks!

I'M NOT GREAT AT SEARCHING "MITCHELL I" IT GETS REAL CONFUSING, TO A FELLER USED TO PAPER MANUALS.

I SPENT ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF, TOTAL, SEARCHING EVER SINCE YOUR QUESTION ARRIVED. NO LUCK ON LIFTGATE PANEL REMOVAL, EXCEPT FOR TEXT SAYING "REMOVE LIFTGATE PANAL"......DUH! I COULD FIND NO DIAGRAMS REMOVING ANY OF THE DOOR PANELS

I ALSO MADE ABOUT A 30 MINUTE SEARCH, USING VARIOUS "QUERY"? (1ST TIME I USED THAT WORD, MAYBE I DID IT RIGHT!) IN "YOU TUBE", LOTS OF GOOD STUFF, BUT NO LIFTGATE PANEL!

MIGHT I MAKE A FEW SUGGESTIONS

IF IT WOULD HELP, FIND SOMEONE IN A PARKING LOT, WITH A SIMILAR RIG (IF YOU CAN SEE WHAT YOU WANT!

SMALL AUTO SALVAGE YARD, ONE OF THOSE "SELF SERVE" TYPES, SEE IF YOU CAN SEE WHAT YOU NEED....SELDOM DO YOU FIND A JEEP, WITH MUCH LEFT, IN A SALVAGE YARD!

PAPER MANUALS---YOU SHOULD HAVE ONE ANYWAY! SEE THIS!

Don't feel so bad - I just called my local Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler dealer. The service department guy couldn't tell me anything either. I asked him, "If someone were to bring one to you to have these replaced, how would you know where to put them?" Silence on the other end for a few seconds. He did suggest I bring it in and let him look at it. Apparently this is a closely guarded secret - job security, I suppose. I think I will just replace the three shown in the diagram for the Grand Cherokee. Thanks for you help!

ME BEING A DIEHARD CJ KINDA GUY, I REALLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE PARTS YOU ARE DESCRIBING

I AM OFTEN CALLED "MacGYVER", AS I DABBLE IN JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING, AND CAN USUALLY COME UP WITH AN ACCEPTABLE "REAL" FIX (NOT A DUCTAPE SOLUTION)

IF YOU WANNA TRY TO POST PICS OF YOUR DILEMMA, WE MIGHT OFF A SOLUTION, IF WE CAN.I AVOID THE BIG-GUYS, TOO MANY SECRETS AND HAVE SEEN 'EM TAKE THE LAZY WAY OUT TOO.I ONLY TRUST MYSELF ON "NORMAL" FIXES, I TRY TO DO, THINGS CORRECTLY (AUTOMATIC TRANNY IS A DIFFERENT STORY, BUT I KNOW "THE MAN" IF THAT IS NEEDED!) I HAVE 1ST HAND EXPERIENCED SOME HORROR STORIES. AND SEEN A WHOLE LOT MORE, OTHERS HAVE HAD.

MY MOTTO:

NOBODY CARES ABOUT MY STUFF. AS MUCH AS I DO!

I replaced the green and yellow fasteners (although there are 4 places - I was working with the left side) instead of the three shown in this diagram. If you'll notice at the top of the diagram it says "Grand Cherokee WJ". I needed the diagram for a 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport. I went ahead and used the 2 yellow and 1 green (I broke one of the yellow one in the process. Thank goodness it wasn't the green one as it costs $6.00, the yellow was only 45 cents.)Also, try searching the following part numbers: 6502991 and 6503204. This is the best description I can give from a female point of view. Lol

LETS SEE IF THIS LINK WORKED FOR ME

I ALSO LOOKED AT SOME OTHER STUFF SUGGESTED AROUND THIS

I HAVE HAD ENCOUNTERS WITH THESE SORTA "POP IN/ BARBED" FASTENERS, MESSING WITH OTHERS CARS AND TRUCKS. CJs DON'T HAVE THE 1ST ONE, EXCEPT FOR THE HARD DOOR VERSIONS

JUST OUT OF HABIT, I ALWAYS PUT 'EM BACK IN THEIR RESPECTIVE POSITIONS, IF THEY FALL OUT DURING DIS-ASSEMBLY. (PROBABLY NOT MUCH ADVISE TO YOU NOW!)

I DO NOT KNOW WHERE YOU ARE GETTING THESE FROM, BUT IT DOES SOUND HIGH!

PLACES I HAVE GOTTEN THESE AND SIMILAR THINGS ARE: "FASTENALL", ADVANCE AUTO PARTS, AUTOZONE, ACE HARDWARE (THEY HAVE MANY PULL OUT TRAYS OF GOODIES!)

THANKS FOR THE MED ADVISE, I'M GETTING BETTER, WATER, ORANGE JUICE, AND REST

IN PREVIOUS PICS, YOU HAVE SEEN THE EXTENT I CRAVE MANUALS, I HAVE SEVERAL MORE, NOT IN THE PICS. THE PRICE OF THESE IS NOT TERRIBLE, IF THEY ARE WHAT YOU NEED. I'M ABOUT TO SPEND OVER $100 TO REPLACE MY AMC SERVICE MANUAL, THAT I HAVE DESTROYED OVER THE YEARS.
