1999 Jeep Cherokee fuel to rich?

As far as the problem, either the sensor itself is bad, there is a broken wire, the connector is loose or corroded and not making a good connection, of the ECM could be bad.

This sensor is responsible for supplying manifold pressure to the ECM. Based on the signal it supplies, the computer adjusts air / fuel mixtures for optimum performance.

Tell me, have you checked to make sure the fuel pressure is within spec? Will it start if you use starting fluid?

First of all thank you very much for responding to my question. I don't think it is the ECM because it's been replaced. The map sensor has been replaced twice, so that shouldn't be the problem. The fuel pump pressure has been tested also. I haven't tried starting it with starter fluid, but I'll give that a try in the morning. I will also check for a broken wire or bad connection on the map sensor. Thanks again for your help, Robert
