tie rod was bad needed to replaced?

just put two new tires on my kids 199 isuzu hombre was told tie rod was bad needed to replace. had them replace and 2 weeks later his wheel just about falls off, now I am told it is his ball joint is that possible?

wondering if this is possible

It is possible if the initial diagnosis was not done correctly.
