When I go to tire sites, they say the correct tire size is 235/75/16, but the tires that are on it are 15 in--does that make much of a difference? Is it ok to use 15 inch rims? Or is 16inch a must have?

Very often a vehicle is available with different tire sizes. The sticker on the door opening will list the tires that came originally. 16" tires will fall off of a 15" wheel. 15" tires can't be forced to fit on a 16" wheel. You need the tire size that matches the wheels.

The Rodeo was available with 15" and 16" wheels. To see what yours came with originally, look at the sticker on the door opening.
