I started hearing a loud knocking sound, took it to the Honda dealership they said it was the tentioner pulley that needed to be replaced. He then called back to say I needed new pilot bearings also or the car will not be fixed. Is this true? Arent those only for manual tranny's?

I would ask to look at the problem autos do not have a pilot bearing i am not sure why they would say this.
