1999 Honda Accord mileage: 124,000. When I drive my car it shuts off on me and when I try to start it back up, it only cranks but will not start. After about twenty or thirty minutes, it starts back up only to happen again after a while. Could it be the fuel pump?

Hello,

It sounds like you might have an issue with the crank position sensor.
The crank sensor is located on the lower part of the engine.
Over time with heat an vibration the crank sensor will loose its calibration and start to produce faulty signal. When that happens the engine will not start.
When the crank sensor starts to go bad it will fault out at random times. Typically it will fault when the engine is hot.

Thank you.
