backfires and no power

my 1999 honda accord ex backfires and has no power when i accelerate it. how can i fix this?

Check your basics first. Scan for engine codes. Spark plugs, tune-up items (wires, ignition cap and rotor).

If that's fine, ensure fuel pressure is to spec. Then start looking at mechanical timing. Your timing belt may of jumped a few teeth.
