SUBURBAN STUCK IN 4-WHEEL DRIVE?

Hi my friend has a suburban i think the year of the are is 99 or 98. hes having trouble with the 4-wheel drive. i think its like stuck or something. is there a way to completely disengage the 4 wheel drive? or like make it unstuck?

try jacking it up and releasing the rear wheels. sometimes it gets a wind up condition and jams. otherwise it could be an internal issue. when was the last time you chnaged the oil in the transfer case??

removing the front driveshaft will totally remove 4 wheel from the unit.

There are 2 different for the vehicle and I need to know which transfer case is used.
