1999 GMC Suburban Stopped running while driving

1999 GMC SUBURBAN
170,000 MILES • 5.8L • V8 • 4WD • AUTOMATIC

I was driving my gmc truck down the street and all of a sudden it stopped running and it hasn't started back since. my lights and radio work, I even placed a new battery in it. It still will not start. Can someone give me some pointers on what to do? Thanks
