1999 Gmc Suburban Put 265 75 16 Tires On This Vehicle Without Them Rubbing

I need to know if I can put 265/75/16 tires on this vehicle without them rubbing. I also have a noise and vibration coming from what I feel is the ujoints of the front driveline for the 4x4. The 4x4 on this SUV is engaged with an electronic switch. according to the manual on this, when it is in a given gear, (i.e. 4 wheel high, low, auto 4x4 or 2wd, the light should be lit. All the lights seem to work properly, but when driving, the light switches off on the 2wd side and appears to come on in the 4wd auto portion. Is this a common problem or could this be the reason the ujoint is going out as I just came back from a 700 mile trip on the highway and it kepy changing from 2wd to 4wd according toi the switch lights. Can I just remove the front driveline if the switch is the issue?

what size tires are on there right now????

is it in fact 4 wheel when the light comes on???

did you have the u joints checked already??? how do you know they are bad????
