I have to bypass/disable the pass lock system ?

If I change out the ignition in a 99 Sierra Gmc P/U Truck will I have to bypass/disable the pass lock system ?
It worked for a month or so with the new ignition but now I cant get it to start , after changing starter and fuel pump, everything else checks out good.
