1999 Gmc Jimmy Just Bought 99 Seem Shifting Into 4wd Hi Get 4 Lo

I just bought the 99 GMC Jimmy and I seem to have a problem shifting into 4WD. Hi. I can get it into 4 lo. I tried the manuals directions of putting it into neutral, pushing the eletronic switching button to 4 hi, then going to park while the light is flashing but it doesnt seem to want to go to 4 hi. The Manuel says I should take it in to have the Transmission control switch adjusted.
I am fairly handy and somewhat mechanically inclined( I have replaced alternators, starters, radiators, Brakes and stuff like that, is this something I can do myself? If so where do I start?

check your actuator on t case they go bad
