How hard is it to change the thermostat in a 1999 Ford Wiindstar..3.8 lt. engine?

Removal

1. Drain the engine cooling system (8575). For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding in this section.

2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube. For additional information, refer to Section 303 12.

3. Remove the upper radiator hose (8260) from the water hose connector.

4. NOTE: Mark the location of the vent pin before removing the thermostat.

Remove the bolt, nut, water hose connector and thermostat, and discard the gasket.
